Here is a snapshot from his video. While watching the 1 minute clip, if you like it, there is a link to his full video next to the clip! You can click the image below to spend one minute with Lance:
We passed the 14th and 15th stretch goals. With 18 hours to go, we may get to the 16th with new boss behavior if we reach 130,000 Euros.
The four added one-shot scenarios won’t have a story or connection to the campaign, but will be handy to show the mechanics to your friends, test team combos, or just have a quick match.
And here would be the new objects:
Game Giveaway at Her De Spiele – this is a German website, but anyone can enter for a chance to get a free copy of Rogue Angels. You don’t have to speak German and you don’t even have to be a Kickstarter backer! All you have to do is watch their video and post a comment to the video that answers this question: “How many enemy standees are in the final Rogue Angels game (including stretch goals)?”
Here is the video:
He will draw a winner from his YouTube video’s comment section right after the campaign ends.
Remember that Sunday, October 1 is the online celebration of the Kickstarter campaign ending! You will need to convert the time to your time zone! It is at 19:00 CEST (Emil’s time) or Noon CDT (where I live) =>Facebook Event
There now will be two more types of objects in the game. And the game will come with 6 illustrated standees of these two types (maybe 3 of each?).
There is one more Stretch Goal left on the list right now! Just one more! We are going too fast for Emil to keep up with us! But I bet he has a couple more stretch goals up his sleeve!
Here is the next one we are aiming for (and personally, not one of my favorites:) adding 4 new Enemy Behavior Cards for enemy bosses. With these the behavior will be tailored more to them. Not looking forward to meeting them in that alley!
We should hit this goal in the next few hours? Before today becomes yesterday?
But in Rogue Angels, sometimes it is good to rest right at the start of your turn.
You get two actions for your turn from three possible choices (and can do the same action twice if you wish):
Play 1 action card
Concentrate (gain 2 focus)
Rest (move all cards one slot to the left)
Let’s say that Vera left her team to take care of something and now wants to get back with the team quickly. Here is what her character board and cool down track looks like:
It might seem counter intuitive to rest when she really wants to catch up with her team quickly! But if she rests, all cards in her cool down track slide to the left and the Jet Pack card comes back into her hand. Perfect! That will move her 5 plus rolling one die (which might even be +2 giving her a movement of 7). And she has two focus (as seen by the yellow marker) so she can reroll her die twice trying to get that +2.
Watch for more LEARN WITH ME sessions! This game is NEW to me too! Let’s learn together!
I have a few photos and a five minute video that will help you learn with me about how the enemy alternates turns AND how you can take advantage of knowing that!
First the photos (showing how the game looks as I tried to recreate a situation that I encountered playing the first map tutorial). After you have seen the photos and what the game looks like you can watch my explanation video (below the photos).
First, here is how I tried to recreate the game situation from the last mission on map 001 of the tutorial:
In the final game, each enemy’s base will be a dial to track their hit points (remove them when it hits zero). For this prototype example I am using some orange acrylic cubes, 1 per hit point, for each enemy.
The GOAL (for our team to WIN) is to
Hack the console at the bottom right of the map.
THEN after the console has successfully been hacked, hack open the exit door (top right) AND move both my heroes into the ship that is docked next to the map. The final game will have a Ship Box that has a map of its interior on the bottom of the box. The prototype just provides me with the ship’s interior map which I set on the side of Map 001 lining up the exit door on Map 001 with the entry door into the ship.
At this point in the game the yellow enemy has just finished their turn. It is now the start of my turn. This is the Enemy Behavior Card (EBC) that they just used. It is Yellow side up because it was the Yellow enemy that had just moved. When the enemy finishes their turn you do NOT flip the EBC over! It stays as is all during your turn (so that you can’t peek at how the next enemy will be bahaving yet). After my turn is over, this EBC is flipped over and the enemy starts their turn with RED enemy activated!
This can have many benefits including playing the game with two friends who came to visit without messing up your ongoing campaign! You simply choose one of these four scenarios, setup the boards, components and players and you are ready to roll! Anything that happens during each of these scenarios won’t affect your ongoing campaign!
What’s next?
Here are the next Stretch Goals that we can aim for:
When we hit 125,000 Euros the game will include 2 new types of objects and have 6 new illustrated standees.
Passing 130,000 Euros will add FOUR more unique Enemy Behavior Cards (EBCs) for the enemy bosses.
Martin here, trying my hand at this wonderful website. The article will go on BGG at a later time, but I thought it would be nice to have it debut here.
Talya Paranis is a young changeling with a skillset in high demand. This spotlight will hopefully make you see why.
Illustrators: Original concept by Angelita Ramos. Character by Dinulescu Alexandru, Action cards by Gunship Revolution. Note that Emil is the original writer of Talya and her mechanics, but I have taken over her story.
DESIGNER NOTES Changelings have a very adaptable and extreme metabolism. Maybe that is why their life cycle is quite short. But this can be compensated for with intense lives At 16 years, Talya is fully grown and has experienced more than most adults of other species – also more than she would have preferred. Her talents for tinkering, which are also reflected in her action cards, have gotten her out of (and into) countless situations.
“I can build that”

However … after thinking about this for a week or two, I think that I just might be able to make my own walls from folded pieces of manila file folders! I am NOT a very handy nor crafty person, but I can imagine cutting a piece out from a file folder… folding it in half… folding small tabs out from both ends and then stapling (or gluing) the folded area together! The small tabs at the bottom will get it to “stand up” on the map :)
We passed through TWO stretch goals since the last update, adding:
6 new maps and setups (110K Euros)
4 new Bosses (115K Euros)
Here is what Emil had to say about those “bosses”: Now, Rogue Angels is not a boss battler but there are boss fights. It all depends on the mission, the opponents, and of course your choices. Like everything else in this game, I want it to matter, and I want it to be special. No grinding, no “yet another fight”, it should always be engaging to go back into Rogue Angels.
