I have a few photos and a five minute video that will help you learn with me about how the enemy alternates turns AND how you can take advantage of knowing that!
First the photos (showing how the game looks as I tried to recreate a situation that I encountered playing the first map tutorial). After you have seen the photos and what the game looks like you can watch my explanation video (below the photos).
First, here is how I tried to recreate the game situation from the last mission on map 001 of the tutorial:

In the final game, each enemy’s base will be a dial to track their hit points (remove them when it hits zero). For this prototype example I am using some orange acrylic cubes, 1 per hit point, for each enemy.
The GOAL (for our team to WIN) is to
- Hack the console at the bottom right of the map.
- THEN after the console has successfully been hacked, hack open the exit door (top right) AND move both my heroes into the ship that is docked next to the map. The final game will have a Ship Box that has a map of its interior on the bottom of the box. The prototype just provides me with the ship’s interior map which I set on the side of Map 001 lining up the exit door on Map 001 with the entry door into the ship.
At this point in the game the yellow enemy has just finished their turn. It is now the start of my turn. This is the Enemy Behavior Card (EBC) that they just used. It is Yellow side up because it was the Yellow enemy that had just moved. When the enemy finishes their turn you do NOT flip the EBC over! It stays as is all during your turn (so that you can’t peek at how the next enemy will be bahaving yet). After my turn is over, this EBC is flipped over and the enemy starts their turn with RED enemy activated!

So, after my turn, these are the two Red enemy that will activate:

The two red enemy are quite a distance away. Their attack range is just 1, so they do not pose any immediate danger since even with 3 movement they won’t be too close to my team.

At the bottom you see the console (on the right) that our team must hack. Vera is adjacent to it and I plan on having her go first with two actions of hacking that console. Yellow enemy 2 is also adjacent to the console. But not to worry! When my turn is over the Yellow enemy will do NOTHING! Why? Because the enemy color alternates and it became the Red enemy’s turn! So, Vera can’t hack the console, she will have one more turn to do it before the Yellow enemy interferes (or I might have Qorox also move one diagonal to be diagonal adjacent to the console to pull some more interact tokens for hacking.)

Finally up in the top right is the exit door (and one Yellow enemy off to it’s side) After hacking the console we must hack open the exit door and get out of Dodge!
Now here is my video explaining all this :)
