Official Update (32 and 11)

=> Official Update (Kickstarter #32 and Gamefound #11)

Highlights:

  1. Przemek Kozlowski finished more maps!

New maps include a Reaver transport ship, a world with rivers of tar, a civilized area of Changeling space, container deployments on a moon somewhere, a dark moon of another world, a huge storage facility, a scrapyard ship and a facility with a long conveyor belt.Rogue Angels is not an exploration game, so to speak. But you will explore a lot of the galaxy when travelling to different points of conflict, collecting intel, stealing technology, and saving people from evil :)Angelita Ramos added more new faces for the story that includes about 100 faces for various encounters and quests. It will require several playthroughs to see them all and experience their stories! [see images at the top of this summary]

  2. The story is coming along nicely, but can’t share much of the planned consequences, dilemmas and special moments in order to keep it spoiler-free. But at the moment, the main campaign now consists of 975 pages. The PDF was created from over 48 THOUSAND cells of data! The story DOES depend upon your choices and mission outcomes. For example, the last mission in Chapter 5 has 16 different middle sections plus several different endings that set up for the final battle between good and evil in Chapter 6. It will be mathematically very unlikely that you will experience the same game twice, even if you try to :) Each player is one of SIXTEEN different heroes plus there are so many layers of choices both IN the missions and BETWEEN the missions that you (and your friends) will probably get very different experiences!

  1. One of Emil’s friends printed the last 13 miniatures. Looking good and ready to fight for a better galaxy:

It is exciting to see them placed on various maps (even though the enemy stands are VERY prototype-ish… but see below for updated prototypes for those stands that allow tracking of health / hit points :)

  2. One Piece plastic base / stand for the enemy standees
Emil is working finalizing the enemy base. It will have two cardboard wheels so that it can be turned to change the number for the enemies health (hit points). Here are some examples of how it is progressing (and it shows how you sometimes need to be quite handy with craft tools when making prototypes … good job Emil:)

Laslo created a 3D model from Emil’s drawings and descriptions
Emil’s friend printed some standee bases
Emil got to use his cool circle cutter to make cardboard rings for the base
A little hand lettering on the rings for the bases
Hand colored and labeled getting ready for proof of concept for enemy standee bases
New prototype enemy standee bases ready for testing

Remember these are prototypes. The final enemy standee won’t have it’s name covered by the base and the standees themselves will be custom shaped as well. They will look much much better!

  3. The project is moving along very smoothly. The components, 3D models, process and scope are all ready. No real problems or setbacks. Production will be a GO! However, the sheer amount of content and details require more of Emil’s time and attention, and it was necessary to postpone the delivery date to the first quarter of 2025.
  4. Emil is setting up a big “read to complete” with people who love choose your own adventure stories to ensure that everything leading up to the final chapter is as good as it can get story-wise!
  5. Emil wants to not  only finish Rogue Angels, but to make absolutely sure that this game experience will be worth your time and money! He wants the game to be something you will want to talk to your friends about for days on end!

  6. As promised, here is the second reminder to backers who have not yet pledged for a copy of Rogue Angels. You can increase your pledge to include Rogue Angels or even add copies if you wish more than one copy. Likewise for retailers. The manufacturing phase will begin soon along with a slight increase in price (that will NOT affect anyone who already placed their pledge on Gamefound). The price increase will happen on Monday, September 30, 2024 (increase by 5 Euros to backers, 2 Euros to retailers). Emil anticipates having 3,000 copies made which should last through the entire late-pledge period, but he can’t guarantee that! If all of a sudden lots of late pledges come in, stock could run out, so DON’T DELAY putting in your late pledge NOW!
NOTE: The price increase and possible stock running out will NOT affect anyone who has already pledged for one or more copies!
  7. Emil says: “Thank you for sticking with me on this journey. I will keep pushing on, writing, and producing for this awesome project and game :)
