Official Update (35 / 14)

=> Kickstarter Update #35
=> Gamefound Update #14 (should be the same)

16 hero miniatures

Highlights:

Summary: Very productive month. New maps. Moving forward on digital production. Moving forward towards manufacturing.

  1. Most illustrations have already been completed, but world building maps are still being created by Przemek Kozlowski

    Ice world and Reaver platforms

To ease the pressure on Przemek, NextMars is now on board attempting to create maps with a similar style to Przemek:

    Strange world and Military installation

  2. To help with writing the story [there is a LOT of story, and it is quite interesting so far in the prototype – Len] Emil is learning LaTeX and Python … and now he can make significant changes and additions to the story in the campaign books keeping everything in sync!

This allowed Emil to get the first three chapters into a ready to review form. They are available online here (530 pages) … WARNING: Huge Spoilers if you look at them:
=> Rogue Angels Dropbox / Rogue Angels Dropbox rules/campaign books folder
    Example pages:

If you would like to read through the story for Emil (ie, proofreading), please get in touch with him.
NOTE: the first 530 pages (Chapters 1-3) are now also available via the Rogue Angels mod on Tabletop Simulator
The next two chapters (4-5) should be ready in about a week. A select few will get access to Chapter 6 for a read through :)

  1. November was a huge layout task. Emil needed to create the cutouts for 66 unique standees, enemies, heroes and objects. There was a significant amount of measuring to ensure that the standees were in scale with each other (ex, a Neomorph solder should be taller than a Changeling commando, but a Leviathan even taller). Plus they had to fit on the maps without bumping other things.

    Measuring standees

Emil then had to print and cut out the standees to see how they might look next to the miniatures:

Next will be creating direct layouts for the standee punch boards.

  2. The manufacturer has been slightly modifying the 3D versions of the 16 heroes, mostly to thicken some of the weapons and possible fragile areas.

The end result of the 16 hero minis is at the top of this article. The manufacturer also sent Emil a lot of other materials to show what options are available.

  3. Emil had some more play-testing during November that went very well. He also set up some times in December for more play demos:

    • 4th December, Wednesday, 22:00 (GMT+1), 3 spots available
    • 13th December, Friday, 21:00 (GMT+1), 0 spots available (can be observed)
    • 18th December, Wednesday, 22:00 (GMT+1), 3 spots available

Happy Birthday to Emil!
