Rogue Angels is such an interesting game from so many different aspects. One of those aspects is the interesting variety of unique action cards for the heroes, and Gia has a few of those VERY interesting cards, including Blade Flurry:

Gia will deal one damage for each square move she takes and she can move back and forth between two squares if she wants! And, yes, later in the game, if she uses a red boost that would be TWO damage for each move! But, wait, there’s more! She starts this action with ZERO moves! All moves must come from rolling FOUR dice! And in this case, a +1 or +2 means NOTHING! The only thing you want to roll is a movement icon (or even better the double movement icon). Granted, there are two sides of a die that include a movement icon (yes, the movie icon will change to this in the final game):

But if your dice roll is “bad”, you can always chose one (or more) of the dice to reroll (and do this one at a time to see how your rerolls go). And it is worth noting that Gia has the highest reroll capacity of all the heroes as you can see from her character sheet (the yellow circle icons are to track rerolls):

And once in a while (well, actually quite often) you can maneuver Gia to be in a perfect position to damage (or even take out) two enemies in one action of Blade Flurry! This happened in the mission I just successfully completed (C3). Here is the way the map looked as I started the mission (and YES, the 3D walls and fuel barrels made the gameplay so very much better! See the Resource list at the end of this article):

You can see how those 3D red walls made the map more immersive :) The barrels were also cool to have on the map. You can ignore the two red chips that I placed on the map … I was trying to figure out “ideal” place for my two heroes to get to as they started the mission. Gia is the “blue” hero. You can see the two yellow enemies (1 and 2)very close to her. I decided to go for them! For this to work, I needed Gia to first move to be adjacent to one of them using her Basic Move action (you can see the die roll of 2 moves was perfect giving me a total of three moves to position Gia adjacent to both yellow enemies. Then I just needed to roll the FOUR dice hoping for lots of movement results. Yes, I had to reroll a couple times … but ended up with a very nice time moving back and forth and back and forth and back and forth between the two yellow enemies dealing damage for each “step/square”. And I was fortunate that by this mission, Gia had acquired one red boost, so I used it (+1 damage) and the damage for each move was TWO!
But one final strategic note that ties into another intriguing aspect of Rogue Angels … the enemies alternate activation. First RED will activate (and yellow will do nothing) and then after my next turn the YELLOW will activate (and red will do nothing). However, if I destroy all the yellow enemies, then red will move after all my turns! And the red enemies were quite powerful, so I did not want them to activate every time … so I only destroyed ONE of the yellow and left the other yellow fatally wounded but still on the board (thus yellow still would activate every other turn).
And this brings up yet another intriguing aspect of Rogue Angels … the Enemy Behavior Cards (EBC). The enemies behave differently depending upon the situations in the game (there are dozens of different behaviors). And some of the behaviors include having enemies behave differently if they are damaged …and this WAS part of the EBC that activated for yellow:

When that lone yellow enemy activated, it was damaged, so the instruction on the EBC as that they would move towards the most distant player rather than the nearest player (the top action line). That worked out well for me, because it got that enemy moving away from my hero that had just attacked them :)
This was a fun look at Rogue Angels that started with my wanting to showcase just one action card :) Hats off to Emil for such an intriguing, well designed game!
