Official Update (42 / 21)

=> Kickstarter Update #42
=> GameFound Update #21 (basically the same)

A big welcome to the new late-pledge backers, remember to go and download the free Burning Suns Art Book here.

Highlights:

  1. Przemek Kozlowski provided a handful of maps for the last missions and the holodeck.

    The holodeck is meant to be used for one-shots, where you can either play short co-op, PvE, or PvP battles. This means you can test cards and team compositions, showcase the game mechanics to friends, or just do a short mission with no strings attached. It is not tied to the campaign and has hits own training manual. You also use this manual to introduce a new hero into an ongoing campaign!NextMars created more scenes for the story’s many pages.

  1. All introduction pages for all six chapter campaign books are completed. Each begins with summing up the current state of your adventure (and the galaxy) and includes some references to both previous and soon to come events. This should make it easier to pick up the game if you set it aside between chapters. It also includes more immersive artwork:

  2. The manufacturer is now working on the box that is the “play area / save game” box. Notice the notation where you can cut into the box to create an entrance when you take off the lid:

    And here is the full layout for the inside of that box:

    The outside of the ship will be shown on the outside of this box, like this:

    With the lid on, it should look like a complete ship exterior!The reusable sticker sheets for all the heroes are now complete (thanks to help from many people in the Discord community). An extra sticker sheet for each hero will be included with the game (two total per hero):
  3. TIMELINE CHART:

    (*) means pre-production is completed – will enter production with the rest of the game
    OVERVIEW NOTES:
    * Print ready files for the Map Book, Cards and Punchboards should be going to the manufacturer in July.
    * Campaign Books are done, but still working on corrections
    * Delivery of game is pushed to December 2025 due to the ton of work involved in producing a game like this. The manufacturer can’t just produce SOME of it now and the REST later … must be done all at the same time!

  4. The balancing of the game seems right on point after more playtesting. There also will be more play tests on Tabletop Simulator during July (time is GMT+2):
    * July 1 Tuesday 22:00
    * July 4 Friday 22:00
    * July 17 Thursday 22:00
    * July 19 Saturday 21:00
    * July 20 Sunday 18:00
    * July 24 Wednesday 22:00
    * July 27 Sunday 16:00
    * July 29 Tuesday 20:00
