Official Update 50/29

=> Kickstarter Update #50
=> GameFound Upday #29 (should be the same)

Highlights:

Emil has been renovating and moving into a new house!! [Congratulations Emil] However, that meant that much of his time was spent with moving details! And, yes, this meant a delay in working on Rogue Angels (plus the manufacturer has been celebrating the Chinese New Year as well).

Emil did have time to edit and correct the books and Lisa passed along her notes on spelling and other corrections for chapter 5 (which Emil needed to carefully compare with his notes about what his plan was for each section).

Playtesting was concluded in January, but Emil did some clean-up in early February and once again ran through a couple of the missions that he thought needed more attention. He is now VERY happy with the overall result! In this screenshot, the green missions have been playtested at least 6 times and the yellow at least 3 times!

There are 95 (yes NINETY FIVE) different main story missions plus 26 personal story missions! So, yes, there are 121 missions! However, since your actions have consequences, during a typical playthrough of the campaign, you may only encounter 50 missions.

If you want to try it yourself, you can always dive into the TTS mod here.

Here is how Emil puts this:

While the manufacturer has celebrated Chinese New Year, I have not been in touch with them. But the sole reason for the delay in final production and delivery will have to be attributed to me.

I have therefore pushed the delivery date by 1,5-2 months to August of this year.

(*) Pre-production done. These will enter production alongside the rest.
(**) Pre-production underway at manufacturer.
(***) Awaiting pre-production at manufacturer.

Current retail orders will get their copies as promised, but no further retail orders will be taken. The 104 extra copies that were saved for possible retailers are now available to regular backers… and these will be the final available copies of the game unless there is a reprint in the future. Here is the count:

  • 2,482 copies for regular backers.
  • 314 copies for retailers [that have already been requested]
  • 100 saved for errors, late reviewers, etc.
  • 104 left on Gamefound late-pledge.

Len’s Note: it seems that the game actually went UNAVAILBLE over the past month! So, if you wanted to get a copy and were sad that they were “gone” … you now have a chance to get one of the 104 copies just made available to backers!

The Late-Pledge to Pledge Manger conversion now is scheduled for May 31 to give a little extra time for those just discovering the game (or were trying to decide to get it or not).

Here are Emil’s closing thoughts:

I must admit it was disheartening when I realized over the course of February that I simply did not have the energy or time to sit down and work that much on the game.

Now, this has been an amazing opportunity for me and my family, I cannot complain about any of it. We have been blessed with many good things, and I am very happy about where this has taken us.

With all that said, it can still be hard to admit to yourself, when you must face the limits of your own energy. Especially when I have grown accustomed to my consistent progress and timely communication.

I understand if you are disappointed with the lack of progress for last month. But the trust you have shown me, can only be repaid in honesty and hard work, even when there is not much to show for it. Thank you for your understanding :)
