Heroes Chart (what each are good at)

Here is a chart that I made to help me choose which two heroes to play as I start the campaign over again! Note that the lists that I made were used in this chart so you can refer to those lists for more details! Links to them are below the chart.

Gia – Choose Me!

Gia is the only hero with an Action Effect card that gives cloaking so that an enemy cannot target when they attack (as long as the card remains on the cooldown track). This cloaking ends if she deals damage or interacts with an object. And she also can interact with an object for 2 within a range of 2 … plus can interact with two different objects at the same time!

Key Three:

  1. Action Effect Card: Can be cloaked from enemies to prevent being targeted
  2. Action Card: Can interact with two different objects in the same action within a range of 2 for 2 (or more with a good die roll)
  3. Focus: Has the highest focus of any hero (though relatively low shields and scar circles)

Hiro – Choose Me!

Hiro is an interesting hero in that he has no movement or healing action cards but his special ability does add 2 extra movement to his Basic Move card. It is even more interesting that he is the only hero with TWO Effect cards – one gives him a free movement of 1 square any time he takes damage and the other moves a fellow hero 2 squares at the end of each of his turns.

Key Three:

  1. Action Effect Card: Move a fellow hero 2 squares at the end of his turn
  2. Action Effect Card: Move 1 square and gain 1 focus each time he is dealt damage
  3. Special Ability: Add 2 squares to the Basic Move if more than 2 squares from any fellow hero.

Melithys – Choose Me!

Melithys is kind of indestructible (along with fellow Leviathon Antathys). You can live dangerously and take more risks knowing that she needs 12 scars before she is removed from the game! And if she does get damage cards on her cooldown track more often, they give a bonus to both basic action cards! And Melithys is just for you if you like to blow things up! Her grenade damages everything in a 5×5 grid on the map (yes, damaging everything in those 25 squares).

Key Three:

  1. Special Ability: If there are any damage cards on the cooldown track, both the Basic Move and the Basic Interact have a “+1” to their actions
  2. Action Card: The grenade weapon has the largest damage area of any of the hero weapons… a blast area of 25 squares (in a 5×5 map squares grid) and the 1 damage is unblockable to anything in that area.
  3. Scars: The most scar circles of any hero – you can live dangerously with Melithys and not worry if she ends up with a scar since it takes 12 scars before she is out of the game!

Bassilus – Choose Me!

Bassilus has a very potent weapon! A grenade that can do 2 unblockable damage to everything in a 9 squares blast area (3×3 map squares). And adding another die to the basic actions means more than you might think, since they do not need an empty cooldown track to be used! And though Bassilus has only 2 focus available, he can recoup it whenever another adjacent hero takes a free die reroll.

Key Three:

  1. Action Card: A grenade that can be exploded at a range of up to 6 with an explosion blast damaging 9 squares (a block of 3×3 map squares)
  2. Special Ability:  Help fellow heroes who are adjacent to your location with a free reroll on every action and at the same time Bassilus gains one focus for himself
  3. Action Effect Card: As long as the card is in the cooldown track, both the basic move and the basic interact cards can roll 2 dice instead of just 1.

Tarira – Choose Me!

Tarira is the only hero with two beneficial special abilities. She also gets two red tokens of the same color at the start of the very first mission. These help two of her Action cards that deal damage! Her second special ability also helps with dealing damage to enemies (ALL adjacent!)

Key Three:

  1. Special Abilities: Two beneficial abilities! One lets her take one extra action each mission. The other can come into play once or even twice on a turn, as long as her action dealt more than 3 damage!
  2. Action Effect Card: Her Action Effect card lets her spend one of her shields to add a die to any action. Plus it adds one movement to the action which can be taken before, during or after the action. So if she is just out of range, that added one square movement could put her IN range!
  3. Action Card: Her Pulse Rifle has a very long range of 7

Antathys – Choose Me!

Antathys has the most shields of any hero (and also the most available scar circles), but he also is ranked in four of the lists (long range weapon, unblockable attack, speed run and healing). However is very interesting that his Special Ability ties in with his Action Effect card so well.  He not only has the most shields of any hero, but he also can use one shield to slide his Effect card to the right to keep it on the cooldown track longer! And of course, he can also choose to slide an Action card to the left to get it back into the players hand quicker as well!

Key Three:

  1. Shields: The most shields (and available scars) of any hero
  2. Action Effect Card: At the end of every turn (as long as the card is on the cooldown track) deal 2 damage to every adjacent enemy
  3. Special Ability: Each turn you can spend one shield to gain “+1” to any action!

Jastin – Choose Me!

If Jastin can make it to within a range of 3 of an object that needs to be interacted with by the end of his turn, if his Hacker Drone effect card is on the cooldown track, he gets to interact for two AFTER his turn is over! And his special ability can keep that drone card on his cooldown track for many turns by moving the card to the right at the beginning of his turn :) He also can heal himself or an ally within 3 squares (5 squares with a green token). And note that he is in FOUR of the lists! (Healing, speed run, long range weapon and hacking)

Key Three:

  1. Special Ability: Move an Action Card to the right or left on the cooldown track (get a card back into your hand faster OR keep the Effect card (see #3) on the cooldown track longer)
  2. Action Card: Heal yourself or an ally for 2 OR move an ally 3 squares (or 5 squares using a green token)
  3. Action Effect Card: Interact with an object for 2 within range 3 at the end of each turn that the card is on the cooldown track

Vera – Choose Me!

Vera is the fastest mover of all the heroes. With her two Action Cards (Jet Pack and Dash) she was able to travel across the entire map from one edge to the other in one turn (with pretty good dice rolls – not perfect, but pretty good:) And her jumping ability came in handy for several of the missions! She is #1 in both the fast movement and the jumping group! However, all she has for a weapon is a small pistol. She also has a healing Action Card, but in the entire prototype campaign (3 chapters) with her as one of my two heroes, I don’t think I ever used her Medit Kit… not even once. Since she is such a fast mover, she runs away rather than fights, and the few times that she really needed healing she had zero open cooldown slots and couldn’t use the card!

Key Three:

  1. Action Card: Jet Pack (which includes jump ability)
  2. Action Card: Dash
  3. Special Ability: One free reroll each action (if no ally is within 2 squares and she usually was more than that due to her fast movement)

Xalia – Choose Me!

Xalia has rather high focus and shields plus the ability to get one free reroll if there is any enemy adjacent to her. She also is #1 for unblockable attack!

Key Three:

  1. Action Card: 4 Unblockable damage weapon
  2. Focus & Shields: High Focus and 2nd Highest Shields
  3. Action Card: Can walk through other characters
