(VC13) Board Game Officer (1 min clip)

Colton at Board Game Officer has been playing Rogue Angels quite a bit. PLUS he actually watched 47 video reviews about the game and then made his own video summarizing what others were saying about Rogue Angels. His video is a perfect match for what I am doing with my collection of 1 minute video clips! We both are hoping to let you see what others are saying about the game without requiring you to watch all of them (over 100 videos now). So, it was fun to capture ONE MINUTE from Colton’s summary of 47 videos!

Highlights:

  1. We surpassed the final stretch goal as the Kickstarter campaign ended

    Emil summed it up like this:
    Our last day turned out to be the second-best day in the entire campaign, and it is easy to see just how much you guys managed to spread the word and boost the visibility of the project. Final Stretch Goal Surpassed!

Still a few hours to go in the Kickstarter campaign, but we have now achieved every single stretch goal including the final 135,000 Euros goal:

Emil summed up this final stretch goal nicely:

The campaign epilogue will be our way of offering players a chance to say goodbye to characters, the team, the crew, and other NPCs they have encountered through the story. A short mission of banter, comeuppance, and perhaps a look into the future…

1 1/2 page Rules Summary plus Full Rulebook

Trying to decide to back or not? The full rulebook has lots of full color large example illustrations. To show how the rules are actually quite straight forward, I wrote a summary of the rules in 1 1/2 pages. Both are available on the RULES page here:
=> Rules

Here is a snippet of the top left corner of the Rules Summary (yeah, it has minimal graphics):

Official Update 20

=> Official Update #20

Highlights:

  1. Stretch Goals: we have just crossed our 16th stretch goal, which has given us 4 more Enemy Behavior Cards, these here focused on creating more memorable enemy bosses.
  2. The Final Stretch Goal at 135,000 Euros is Campaign Epilogue. Here is what Emil has to say:
    It has been a particularly hard nut to crack, as I want to make 100% sure that each stretch goal is calculated and scoped according to our capabilities. On top of that, all extra elements should enhance the final gameplay experience, making Rogue Angels as memorable and fun as possible :)

    Emil continues: The campaign epilogue will be our way of offering players a chance to say goodbye to characters, the team, the crew, and other NPCs they have encountered through the story. A short mission of banter, comeuppance, and perhaps a look into the future…
  3. Shipping:

    Emil says: Throughout the campaign I have worked on getting more and better shipping prices, so if you have been on the fence, please make sure to take a look and see if things have been updated

    Emil continues… These are just estimates based on fulfillment centers’ best abilities. I will continue to update and seek out the best solutions once we get closer to the final delivery.
  4. Looking Forward:
    • TODAY is the End of the Kickstarter Campaign online CELEBRATION. You will need to convert the time to your time zone! It is at 19:00 CEST (Emil’s time) or Noon CDT (where Len lives)

    • Emil finished with: A big welcome and thank you to everyone who has joined here in the nick of time – I hope you will share your excitement for this passion project with others out there – and let us face the last 6 hours together. :)

Official Update 19

=> Official Update #19

Highlights:

  • We passed the 14th and 15th stretch goals. With 18 hours to go, we may get to the 16th with new boss behavior if we reach 130,000 Euros.

    The four added one-shot scenarios won’t have a story or connection to the campaign, but will be handy to show the mechanics to your friends, test team combos, or just have a quick match.
    And here would be the new objects:
  • Game Giveaway at Her De Spiele – this is a German website, but anyone can enter for a chance to get a free copy of Rogue Angels. You don’t have to speak German and you don’t even have to be a Kickstarter backer! All you have to do is watch their video and post a comment to the video that answers this question: “How many enemy standees are in the final Rogue Angels game (including stretch goals)?”
    Here is the video:

He will draw a winner from his YouTube video’s comment section right after the campaign ends.

  • Worldbuilding – Lisa continues her series with an article titled “Founding”

    Read her article posted on Board Game Geek:
    => Founding – The Galactic Assembly of Sovereign Civilizations
  • Talya’s Origin

    Read Martin’s article right here on MyRougeAngels:

  • Remember that Sunday, October 1 is the online celebration of the Kickstarter campaign ending! You will need to convert the time to your time zone! It is at 19:00 CEST (Emil’s time) or Noon CDT (where I live)

125,000 Euros Stretch Goal Acquired!

Another Stretch Goal bites the dust!

There now will be two more types of objects in the game. And the game will come with 6 illustrated standees of these two types (maybe 3 of each?).

There is one more Stretch Goal left on the list right now! Just one more! We are going too fast for Emil to keep up with us! But I bet he has a couple more stretch goals up his sleeve!

Here is the next one we are aiming for (and personally, not one of my favorites:) adding 4 new Enemy Behavior Cards for enemy bosses. With these the behavior will be tailored more to them. Not looking forward to meeting them in that alley!

We should hit this goal in the next few hours? Before today becomes yesterday?

Resting is a good thing (Learn With Me)

Yes, in real life too! Naps are good :)

But in Rogue Angels, sometimes it is good to rest right at the start of your turn.

You get two actions for your turn from three possible choices (and can do the same action twice if you wish):

  1. Play 1 action card
  2. Concentrate (gain 2 focus)
  3. Rest (move all cards one slot to the left)

Let’s say that Vera left her team to take care of something and now wants to get back with the team quickly. Here is what her character board and cool down track looks like:

It might seem counter intuitive to rest when she really wants to catch up with her team quickly! But if she rests, all cards in her cool down track slide to the left and the Jet Pack card comes back into her hand. Perfect! That will move her 5 plus rolling one die (which might even be +2 giving her a movement of 7). And she has two focus (as seen by the yellow marker) so she can reroll her die twice trying to get that +2.

Watch for more LEARN WITH ME sessions! This game is NEW to me too! Let’s learn together!
