Unlock Action Cards

There are a variety of cards that you will be able to UNLOCK while playing Rogue Angels. These include 4 Action Cards for each Hero.

You can identify an unlocked action card by its gold border as well as a star in the top right corner.

The art on most of these cards is fantastic. The art on the regular Action Cards is excellent … but some of these cards take it to the next level of exquisite! So I checked on who the artists were to give proper credit: Dinulescu Alexandru, Gabriel Barbabianca, Linggar Bramanty, Caner Inciucu, Przemek Kozlowski, Angelita Ramos, Marius Lane Reonico, Alen Rocha, and Svenja Liv

Question: Are these locked Action Cards special?
Answer: Yes! All 64 locked Action Cards are special and totally unique.

Question: How are these locked Action Cards different?
Answer: You can identify them by the gold border around  the card and the small star in the top right corner. Plus they do not include the normal boosts. Some of them are more powerful. Some of them actually work WITH a Hero’s standard Action Card.

Question: Can a red or blue boost be used with these cards (based on the background color at the bottom of the card)?
Answer: No. You may not use boosts with any of these advanced Action Cards.

Question: If the bottom of the card is not for boosts, is it’s background color significant?
Answer: Yes! The bottom area of the card is either gray background with added info about how the card is used, blue if the card is primarily positive or red if it is primarily negative.

Question: How do I unlock these special Action Cards?
Answer: They are unlocked as you work your way through your  Hero’s 12 page Legacy Folder.
Len’s Option: Your Legacy Folder is a bit finicky and fiddly (Len’s opinion … many may consider it a cool additional sideline to the main game). You often may need to keep track of a variety of things that happen during a mission (such as how many interactions you successfully completed, how many times you damaged an enemy, etc). There also is story dialog that many players will TOTALLY enjoy since it also adds A LOT to the unique story for each Hero. But there may be some (like Len) who do not want to get distracted from the main game by keeping track of things. So, if you are also like that, Len will be making a small card for each Hero that will give you all the same bonuses that the Legacy Folder provides (such as unlocking special Action Cards) without needing to do any fiddly bits (but also lacking all the unique story that is in the Legacy Folder). You can print these cards and slip them behind your Basic Move and Basic Interact cards if you sleeve your cards or they can fold in half making one normal sized card.

Question: Will I be able to unlock and use all four of these special Action Cards for my Hero?
Answer: No. Often your Legacy Folder will offer you two of the locked Action Cards and you then must choose only ONE to unlock. Other times, you might be offered the chance to unlock a special Action Card OR to add a mark to one of your four Personality quadrants (you choose one or the other). Your actions have consequences in Rogue Angels, and the consequences definitely will affect how many (if any) advanced Action Cards you may unlock.

Question: Once I unlock one of the special Action Cards for my Hero, is it available to use all the time?
Answer: Yes, it will then be AVAILABLE to you all the time. However, you have a NINE CARD LIMIT to the cards you are allowed to keep in your hand. You start with 7 action cards (5 unique cards and the 2 Basic Move and Interact cards). During the game you likely will unlock some Shared Action Cards which then can be used by any of the Heroes on your team. However, if you choose to keep 2 Shared Action Cards AND keep your standard 5 unique Action Cards, you will already be at your 9 card limit (with the Basic Move and Basic Interact which you always must keep in your hand). If you are at the 9 card limit you cannot add a special unlocked Action Card (unless you temporarily remove one of the Standard or Shared Action cards first).

Some people prefer to not see things ahead of time, even if it is just their own cards that will be available to them after a few missions. If that is you, then do not click on the links below!
