Inspiring Personality (starting)

When you start the game, the hero you choose likely will have at least one bar colored in for one (or even two) personality quadrants. If you’d like to play a hero that has an inspiring personality right from the start, consider these heroes:

  1. Laelia also has one bar for cautious colored in:
  2. Melithys also has one bar for dominating colored in:
  3. Vera N’Kalou:
  4. Hiro Matsuo:
  5. Qorox:

I hope you are enjoying this look at the starting personality of our heroes as you Learn With Me.

Dominating Personality (starting)

When you start the game, the hero you choose likely will have at least one bar colored in for one (or even two) personality quadrants. If you’d like to play a hero that has a dominating personality right from the start, consider these heroes (especially Tarira):

  1. Tarira Celesius has TWO bars colored in at the start:
  2. Melithys also has one bar colored in for Inspiring
  3. Sigyn also has one bar colored in for Cautious
  4. Eradicator
  5. Antathys

I hope you are enjoying the journey as you Learn With Me.

Scars – Antathys and Melithys (also consider Qorox)

As you play through the campaign, at times a mission may not turn out how you hoped and the campaign book will instruct you to color in a scar for each hero. Once all the scars are colored in for a hero, they are considered having died and are out of the game. However, scars are NOT directly related to taking damage during game play! If there is incoming damage, first your shields deflect it (unless it is unblockable). Next, if no more shields you must take a damage card (this does not affect your scars). Even when you end up with 4 damage cards you become unconscious and you do not color in a scar! Scars are only colored in when the campaign book instructs you to do so (typically after a mission has ended).

The scar circles on Antathys and Melithys character sheets look like this:

Heroes with the most scar circles should be the ones that last the longest during a campaign, so you won’t lose them for quite a while!

Antathys and Melithys have the most scar circles (12) that need to be colored in before they die and are out of the game.

Qorox is next in line with 11 scar circles.

I hope you enjoy Learning With Me!

Shields – Qorox and Antathys (also consider Memnon)

If your play style includes concern with avoiding being damaged by enemy fire (so to speak), then you would be interested in the Shield capacity for your hero. Shields deflect most incoming damage other than unblockable: one shield mitigates one damage. The higher your shields, the more damage you can deflect! Each time you deflect some damage you move the shield marker down one spot. Once the marker is at the zero spot, you no longer have any shields to use (and you take damage).

Here is an example from the character sheet for Qorox that shows his shields at 3 (he used shields twice already):

Note: this is what the shield token may look like in the final game:

If you want your hero to have the maximum amount of shields, then Qorox and Antathys are two you should consider:

You might also consider Memnon who has one permanent shield that is never “used up” while deflecting incoming damage.

Note: This is taken from the prototype that Emil kindly sent to me and things may change in the final game.

Portable Dice Tower, Tray and Storage

Seems perfect for Rogue Angels!

If you are planning ahead for when you get your copy of Rogue Angels, this might be something to consider, especially if you will be taking the game with you to other locations. This is a really cool dice tower where you can see the dice bouncing down the zig zag path into the tray at the bottom. And if that’s all it did it would be cool to have and use!

However, when you are packing up the game to store or take with you to another location, all the cards from all players will fit in the large storage area along with all the tokens needed for the game. Up to 8 dice will fit in the narrow side opening, but you likely need only 4 dice and can fit a laser pointing pen in that slot along with the dice.

The standard version as listed on Etsy will hold about 25 standard playing cards in the storage area. Filamentality3D kindly made a special version for me with a bit more storage space to hold 35 or even 36 cards, which is perfect for 4 players with the maximum of 9 cards each player.

If you get yours now, you can use it with other games while you wait for the final version of Rogue Angels to arrive at your doorstep.

Here is a photo of the one I purchased:

Note: I purchased this myself at full regular price (ie, I did not receive a review copy). It was shipped quickly and packed well in a very nice almost custom looking box! I tested it with a prototype of Rogue Angels… the final version may differ.
