Weapon Range (Super Seven)

The seven best Action cards regarding weapons with the longest range! These will help you do damage to an enemy from a good distance (helping to keep YOU out of THEIR range). Less than half of the 16 heroes have weapons with a range over 5! Laelia is the BEST in this category. These are the seven:

  • Range 8: Laelia
  • Range 7: Bassilus, Antathys, Tarira, Memnon, Melithys, Jastin

(1) LONGEST Range Weapon:

Laser Sniper (Range 8)

Hero: Laelia – plus it deals up to 4 unblockable damage!

Hiro Action Cards

Some action cards have ongoing effects as long as they remain in your cooldown track. Not every hero has one of these cards (example: Vera does not have any Effect cards). Hiro has not just one but TWO effect cards (the only hero with two valuable Effect cards). However, Hiro also is the only hero with NO movement ability action cards as well (which, of course, balances out his unique cards).

Highlights for Hiro Action cards:

  • Has TWO Effect Action cards
  • Has ZERO movement Action cards (other than the basic Move card)
  • Has two weapon Action cards

BMS Device

  • Card classification: Gear
  • Cooldown Track Slot: 3 (but since it is an ongoing effect, you likely want to play it in slot 4)
  • Dice: 3 dice (but dice are not interconnected with the card’s action)

At the end of your turn, before the free rest action, move an ally 2 squares, the ally also gains 1 focus

Since this is an EFFECT card, as long as it is on your cooldown track you gain the stated action after your turn. This card is interesting in that it helps AN ALLY (and not yourself). When you play the card you also roll 3 dice (which do not interconnect with the card’s action). Dice results of Shields or Movement can be utilized. Note that on subsequent turns you do NOT roll dice. Also note that the boosts are only available when the card is played and not on subsequent turns. Boosts available:

  • Green token: Your next action this turn has +1 damage
  • Blue token: 2 allies gain 1 shield

Line of Sight (LoS) and Range (and a slight difference with doors)

Here is a short video (less than 6 minutes) that uses a map segment from the boardgame Rogue Angels to show how Range and Line of Sight work in the game … and how DOORS are just a tad bit different! This article continues below the video:

Note: The same hero standee (Hiro) is used for all the examples, but the weapon Action Card is actually from another hero (Xalia). I kept the same hero there to not confuse things by swapping them. The Action Cards Grid Slicer (for Hiro) and Exo Shuriken (for Xalia) are included at the end of the article.

Here is that map segment with numbers and letters added that will be used in the article below it:

In the video, an enemy in square B with an attack range of 1 cannot attack our hero in square 2 because it is a range of 2 (out of range). However our hero also cannot attack that enemy even with a weapon that has a range of 2 because Line of Sight is blocked by the red wall on the map.

However, a door is slightly different. You calculate the range to a door using the square BEHIND the door. But Line of Sight to the door can be anywhere on the line where the door is placed! So, although our hero cannot attack the enemy that occupies the square behind the door (when the door has been removed) due to the wall blocking the Line of Sight … our hero CAN interact with the door using a interaction card with a range of 2 because it IS within range AND it also is within Line of Sight because the door itself is not blocked by a wall when viewed from the dot on the square where our hero is (square 2). Thus, when checking Line of Sight from square 2, we start at the dot in the middle of square 2 and “draw a line” to any part of the door itself… NOT to the dot in the center of the square behind the door (B) nor the dot in the center of the square in front of the door (F).

Adryel Action Cards

If you are looking for a well rounded hero who has special abilities for healing, hacking, running and attacking, Adryel could be your guy!

Highlights for Adryel Action cards:

  • Frenzy can be used to attack a second enemy if you kill the first!
  • Has healing ability for you or a fellow hero

Frenzy

  • Card classification: Ability
  • Cooldown Track Slot: 2
  • Dice: no dice (but a red token adds 1 die that can increase the damage)

Deal [3] damage to an adjacent enemy. If you kill the enemy, you may repeat this action once on another adjacent enemy.

Frenzy is great when enemies surround you because you get to attack TWO enemies if you are able to kill the first. You can use a red token to add a die to try to increase the damage dealt! Boosts available are:

  • Red token: Add one die (increases the damage – good also for the second attack if used)
  • Yellow token: You and an ally gain 1 shield (both of you gain a shield)

Qorox Action Cards

If you are looking for a hero who is ready to fight with weapons, ability and gear, Qorox is your hero. Just be aware that this means Qorox doesn’t have Action cards for healing, running, jumping or even interacting (other than the basic Action card).

Highlights for Qorox Action cards:

  • Can push enemies away (several at a time) with unblockable damage if they hit a wall or something that stops their movement
  • Can move then deal damage
  • Can self-sacrifice to take the heat off his fellow heroes
  • Plus has two weapon cards

Shield Emitter

  • Card classification: Gear
  • Cooldown Track Slot: 2
  • Dice: 1 die (increases the damage dealt OR increases the shields for an ally)

Push all adjacent enemies 3 squares away from you, enemies whose movement are stopped by anything suffer [1] unblockable damage, or an ally gains [2] shields

Note that an enemy pushed to the edge of the map is not considered “stopped” unless the edge of the map is a wall, closed door or such. Two boosts are available:

  • Green token: Roll one additional die
  • Blue token: Change “or” to “and then” (thus both dealing damage AND gaining shields for an ally)
